		<description>Thompson&#039;s statements about Gandhi may have been a bit provocative, but truthfully I don&#039;t know many people (including his admirers, among whom I count myself) who would agree with his stance on not fighting Nazi Germany. It&#039;s a matter of how far would we take his principles of nonviolence, and that&#039;s the issue Thompson raised. When peace activists use him as their emblem, they should be prepared to answer that question: is there ever such a thing as a just war?</description>
