Nate Silver over at 538.com has offered an interesting, if not shocking, analysis of the GOP House membership.

There’s nothing shocking in what Silver writes and claims, and it’s open to question because of his methods and his “progressive” sources. (Isn’t he a darling of the “progressive” set like Taibbi?)

His “teaser” at the end about a future article is interesting, yes.

[T]here is some evidence to suggest that the current House of Representative may be the most conservative ever on economic policy, and the furthest removed from the center of the electorate.

It’s likely that’s what he’s wanted to report and indeed will report “evidence.” [shrug] Probably worth a follow-up given what two wild claims he makes. (I don’t know which is worse, though the economic policy claim may be — he shouldn’t overreact to the no-taxes or no-raising-debt-limit stances by some members.
