As a Democrat, I like Hagel but think that if Newt gets the nom, he will have little or no chance in the general. Of all of the potential GOP candidates, he is the most polarizing and his personal background is as messy as Giuliani's (remember he was driven out of Congress for ethics violations by his own party. The violations were for a book deal with circumstances that suspiciously resembled the ethics violations that Speaker Jim Wright was driven out for. Nutty Newt took advantage of the outrage over Wright to stage the "Contract With America". But since he's been granted redemption by James Dobson, I guess that's not hypocrisy either, lol.

"btw, I signed the petition"

Oh, thx, that's great! I didn't sign it, it's for US citizen only, and I support the notion that this is the voter's decision (even though the rest of the world sure is interested in the outcome).

Gray, agree about the font. btw, I signed the petition;)

Rudi, I think Newt has a chance for the nom. The spectacle of Dobson and Fallwell granting their blessings is not without meaning. They must be a little uncomfortable with Giuliani.

A Republican primary with Paul, Hagel and the Newter would be informative and entertaning. However, none of the three "brighter minds" has any chance.
