Its sad to see a sitting Vice President of the United States reduced to the role of a dirty trickster aka Donald Segretti from the Watergate era. The case really reflects poorly on Cheney, who should have put himself above that kind of behavior. BTW, a bit of trivia- Karl Rove learned the tricks of the trade from none other than the famous Segretti– and became more adept than the master himself.

Scooter’s gonna need a more manly nickname in prison… Hmm.. Maybe Moped. Ok, bad joke.

But seriously how sad is this, a guy could face up to 25 years in prison and/or a one million dollar fine, for lying to the FBI. All that to stop a little known diplomat from getting an op-ed piece published in a few newspapers. Does anyone honestly believe that if the administration hadn’t tried to molest Mr. Wilson that we wouldn’t have gone to war with Iraq. Unfortunatly this sort of thing will most likey define this presidents era. If it wasn’t so damned sad, it’d be hilarious.

Everybody with an ounce of sense knows it’s Cheney who is guilty and behind everything that Libby has been forced into undergoing. But Libby has to keep his lip buttoned or our President won’t pardon him. They’re all liars, miscreants, macho babies with thin skins, and none of them gives a damn for the country, its people, the economy, our soldiers. In short, they all feel like “the elite” and have that snobbish attitude that F. Scott Fitzgerald described so well in The Great Gatsby when he created Tom Buchanan.

Maybe Bush should just go ahead and pardon him now. That would save some dough for all of the wealthy contributors to the Libby Defense Fund-why bother with an appeal, the results will be the same in the end. But at least the public knows more about the way this WH operates-it’ll make a great movie someday in the realm of “All the President’s Men”. Now who should play Fitz???

A little late for Fitzmas, but better late than never. Why didn’t the Bush Administration do a Nixon and just fire Fitz. How long before the pardon, we must heal the country. Liby can’t go to jail, some bear of an inmate will make him his Apple Coulter.
