Take a Peek

At Watching America: a great website, with a noble and necessary purpose. From its ‘about’:

WatchingAmerica reflects global opinion about the United States, helping Americans and non-Americans alike understand what the world thinks of current issues that involve the U.S. This is done by providing news and views about the United States published in other countries.

It is not our purpose to find favorable or unfavorable content, but to reflect as accurately as possible how others perceive the richest and most powerful country in the world. We have no political agenda.

WatchingAmerica makes available in English articles written about the U.S. by foreigners, often for foreign audiences, and often in other languages. Since WatchingAmerica offers its own translations, regular users of our site will enjoy articles not available in English anywhere else. We are a unique window into world opinion.

In addition, by integrating the latest translation technology into the site, visitors are able to surf all of the content of foreign-language news outlets at the push of a button – in English.

So, go take a peek.

UPDATE:
Steve K. points out in the comment section of this post that Watching America is a five star website and required reading material… I – obviously – agree.

Bravo and thank you for this recommendation Michael.

Watching America is a five star wedsite and should be required reading for everyone wanting to keep up with the thoughts and opinions of different nations and peoples of the world. The world that we ALL live in and share.

Many in the United States need to be shown that they are not the only ones that matter… Watching America does a great job of proving that point day after day.

The problem is that people whom Americans consider their allies or friends are their worst enemies.

    1- American Sycophants
    2- Islamic Militants

Each year America gives millions of dollars in aid to these sycophants.

Take money from Americans. Finance and train these militants to extract more money from Americans or western powers.

If we want to change people’s thinking about America, than we have to address the grievances of poor people, who are oppressed by these AMERICAN SYCOPHANTS.

Snark – Laura won’t play nice with munameem:(.

    Rudi

Thanks for your snarky remark. :) But these are facts.

I even wrote emails letters US senators and EU officials , pointing out how aid is being misused. I got no response.

  5. Rudi says:

munameem – The Laura I refer to is a fundie Chritsian who comments here at TMV. IMO her stance of Arabs is there with Little Debbie Schussel. Welcome to TMV, the Arabist crowd is a minority here, the Likud-Lite dominate. I will read your posts daily.

  6. kritter says:

munameem- I second Rudi’s welcome- we could use a little balance. You gotta get used to Rudi- after a while he grows on you!

  7. Rudi says:

Whatta ya mean – he grows on ya?

  8. kritter says:

You know, like fungus. Just kidding, Rudi- I think your comments are creative and usually hilarious. Also sometimes they provide very illuminating links.

  9. Rudi says:

Is that truffles or athletes foots? :(

  10. kritter says:

Either or both, I guess. What I meant is that it takes a little while to get you. Oh, Geez is the comment Nazi, MvdG around? I forgot about his strict enforcement against personal comments.

  11. Rudi says:

KR – Imagine what Laura will say about a neutral or pro-Arab point of view here at TMV. But I am worried about myself, I actually agreed with Lauras comments on another thread. Must be the wrong type of mushrooms on my pizza.

  12. Why yes Kim I am now and I politely ask you not to refer to me as ‘nazi’ anymore. As you might understand that’s a bit a sensitive issue for those who were conquered by the Nazis.

And, yes, I also politely ask the two of you to stop ‘gossiping’ about Laura. If someone’s not present there’s absolutely no use in talking about that person.

  13. Rudi says:

    OK soup cook.

  14. kritter says:

OK, MvdG- no problem- what about comment authoritarian? BTW, What did I say about Laura- I was referring to my comments about Rudi!

  15. What about no ad hominems at all?
