For those of you curious about how my birthday music spree turned out, here’s the update.
For those of you who don’t care, that’s cool, but you still have to watch The Brewmaster’s Tale if you’ve ever so much as glimpsed at The Lord of the Rings movie (and heard the music).
Glad to have been of help.
Yeah, Kill Hannah is kind of Killers with a female lead, but I like their sound better.
Also, don’t be fooled into thinking Lacuna Coil is an Evanescence rip-off, either. It is the other way around, if anything, although they are more just two different bands that developed a similar sound separately. Lacuna Coil has been around since 1997 and released their first album in 1998, when Evanescence formed, and their first album, Fallen, didn’t come out until 2003.
Finally, a few more you make like, given what you gravitated to from the first list:
Stereophonics
…And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead
Deftones
Black Stone Cherry
H.I.M.
Slipknot
The Toadies/Burden Brothers (basically the same group)
