Great point. And I have tried to make it a few times, though I am probably preaching from the choir too much. But the Persian history of Iran is NOT the recent Arab history and Persians (Jewish and non-Jewish Persians) have no desire to fight a war with Israel and see their contry bombed to nothing. But they do share pride in their country. That’s why it is so…dumb (can’t find a better word) to attack Iran as a ‘bad guy’, ‘evil doer’ ETC. It has dimenions and the leaders of Iran currently face thier own issues in keeping the country together. The nuclear issue is complicated because it unites the people to have national pride, so in trying to control it we have to use our heads, and get at the real issues. SO far, Iran is still in accordance with all the treatis they belong to including the nuclear non-prolif treaty. And if you talk with any people working in Iran for the Govt. or other social agency the nuclear power issue is a real issue for them. They realize that the polution and cost of using oil (and the fact it will be gone at some point’ demands they look to the future and try and find solutions now.
