5-0 is slang for the police as in Hawaii 5-0 which was the Hollywood Hawaii State Police named after Hawaii and it being the 50th state. The actual police force throughout the state and islands is known as "HPD" or "Honolulu Police Department" You can be in any town or county in the Hawaiian Islands and the marked cars say "Honolulu Police Department" though a large part of the department patrols in personal unmarked Mustang GT's , Chrysler 300m's Toyota four runners, Dodge Durango's and others with the single blue light on the roof. There are new blue removable light bars they upgraded to but are removed when the officer is off shift and his cruiser turns back into the family wagon.

New York passed a symbolic resolution (its own words) calling for a moratorium on the n-word. The symbolism, I think, is perfectly reasonable
-----------
It doesn't do any harm, I'll grant you that. But the last people to pay any heed will be the very limited group who use the word in the first place.
New York has 1001 serious problems to deal with. and I would prefer that lawmakers spend their time and energy dealing with a few of those, rather than on something that will affect no one.

We're both wrong, Holly:
<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hawaii_Five-O" rel="nofollow">"Hawaii Five-O centers on a fictional state police force of the same name — in honor of Hawaiʻi's status as the 50th State"</a>

In order to save on blood pressure medication, it'a best not to expect rational thinking - by anyone. The tactics of the FRC do not surprise. Their influence still does.

New York just passed a law banning the N word. At least it's nnot binding, and the authors claim it's meant to set an example-for themselves, I guess. No one else will be influenced.

None of it makes sense.
