Alvin Rosenfeld sparked a furor when he wrote an essay on Jewish “progressives” and their link to anti-Semitic and anti-Zionist criticisms. Now he’s written another essay on the popular response, to which I blog my own thoughts on.

Why do you take anybody for serious who is engaging in such ad-hominem attacks instead of discussing the reasons for disagreement?

The debate in the Jewish community seems to mirror the political debates all over America. The shouters can obscure the rational thinkers, if we’re not careful
