If Basra is so peaceful and Britain is still a valuable and committed coalition partner why arenâ€™t the extra British troops being used for the surge? Cheney is doing nothing more than spin.

Of course we should all take Cheney’s word on how “vastly improved” the situation in Basra is. Since he recently claimed on Meet the Press that we have achieved “tremendous successes” in Iraq, maybe we can set up a timetable for troop withdrawel just like our British compadres. Just get the ol’ “Mission Accomplished” banner out of mothballs for the grand finale.
