  1. What’s the old saw? Even paranoids can have enemies.

If anyone wanted to claim, for example, that the press coverage of the attack on Elie Wiesel has been weirdly muted I’d have to agree. Here is an attack that authorities are calling “…attempted kidnapping, false imprisonment, elder abuse, stalking, battery and committing a hate crime” and you hear almost nothing about it.

    Very, very odd.

I guess, as news, it just couldn’t compare to the embalming of a big breasted B-list celebrity.

That piece of useless news trumped everything that was even slightly important. The MSM has jumped the shark so they can secure the grocery store checkout aisle magazine rack aisle crowd (weekly world news/enquirer types), and forsaked actual newsworthy events of all kinds for splashy outrage/tabloid reporting..if you can call it reporting at all. The MSM is being called out on it more everyday, and losing viewers to blogs for news information.

The Jews are paranoid about anti-semitism in the same way that Afro-Americans are paranoid aboit racism and victims of muggings are paranoid about footsteps approaching from behind. It’s a natural reaction to traumatic experiences.
I know that people that escaped from Iron Curtain countries feel the same way about Communism
I suspect that even denials and intra-group arguments and accusations are a phenomenon of this.

Those who realize they are super-sensitive to an issue fare best, because they can face their fears and attempt to separate options in decision making that are based on emotions from those based on reasoned, logical assessments. Those who never acknowledge that there might be a problem are prone to make some very bad decisions.

  4. BTW, Phyllis Chesler is a noted feminist author from the 1970s, not exactly a “nut.”

It always surprises me that there are only 10+ million Jews in the world.
Our influence seems to be so disproportionate compared to our numbers.
I guess that will always make us easy scapegoats for other people failures, fears and follies.
    I was raised think defensively.

Yes. Bearing the differences of a minority draws fire, and being prominent draws fire.
Being both is a double whammy.
