The conservative base doesn't like him, and the moderates and liberals who used to like him largly don't anymore because of his cozying up with the far right and stance on the war. He should have either began moving to the right a long time ago or continued to reach out to moderates and liberals. Instead, he tried to have it both ways and has the support of neither. I can’t help but think McCain doesn’t have a shot in ’08.
