The fact remains that Libby lied. Yes. Bad Libby but had this witch hunt never occurred then Libby never would have lied and the real culprit in all this (Armitage) would have born the brunt of his sins and America would have a few million more dollars in its bank account.

And, btw, what’s clear know is that Armitage wasn’t the only one leaking information about Plame. Testimony shows other journalists had other sources, primary Libby.

Im not much on Wiki but here you go. I had actually listened to the interview with Robert Novack about this whole affair on his show about how he got the information.

The GOP talking points that no crime was actually committed are patently false. There was a crime. Libby lied to Fitzgerald about how he found out about Plame, blaming Tim Russert. The prosecution has had a weeks worth of witnesses who have testified that Libby knew Plames identity before he was to have had the conversation with Russert. Perjury. And if Cheney had been sworn in in his grand jury testimony, he might be joining ol’ Scooter in the slammer.

This trial isn’ about ‘whodunnit’, but because Libby probably lied under oath.
