CS- Well, maybe a little, LOL! I honestly thought he was closest to finding out the truth, and am hoping will learn more of Dick Cheney's deep dark secrets during his testimony. For once, he won't be able to say "Well, Wolf, no administration in their right mind would answer a question like that."

I've given up on getting rid of Rove- he may actually be more of a hindrance to the GOP these days anyway. But I partially am inclined to believe Libby's defense when it claims that AG Gonzales saved Rove from being Bubba's roommate. After all, Bush was counting on him to save his administration from having to answer all of those subpoenas from the Democrats.

The discontinuity between what Fleischer said today and Dickerson's recollection as reported in his Slate article is not necessarily evidence of perjury.

In reality, it gives additional credence to Libby's fundamental defense, that he (and people in related lines of work) were very busy, doing many things at one time, engaging in countless conversations with hundreds of people every week, and thus that he can't be expected to have perfect recall of every one of them. Dickerson's not lying, Fleischer's not lying, they both just have different recollections of a particular conversation. One (or both) of them may be wrong in their recollection, but that is not perjury, which requires an intent to testify falsely.

<em>W is just soggy pretzels. </em>

Lmao, Rudi- you have a certain way with words!
Yes, I agree about the press corps- investigative hardly applies- too bad we don't have a team like the old Woodward and Bernstein to crack Plamegate. But who would play Deep Throat?????

KR - W isn't the only one who spins in SOTUS. I find the Washington press crowd to be more of a problem. If a reporter actually did some investigative reporting they are left off the Crawford BBQ invite list. When you find W using the FBI to targey Plame, then it's a bigger problem. Nixon was competent and gave us the EPA, W is just soggy pretzels.

Maybe not much will come out of it- but if we finally learn that Bush knowingly left false information about the Niger uranium in his SOTU, and that that information was known to be false while the administration was beating the war drums, doesn't that trump a two-bit burglary and subsequent cover-up? I'm convinced that what happened to Nixon is not that unusual- the blame usually just doesn't reach the top ranks anymore.

I'm intrigued by the case, partly because of all of the conservative arguments I listened too claiming that Libby and Rove were falsely maligned, and that the prosecution was a witchhunt. We also heard that Valerie Plame wasn't really covert, that she had outed herself at cocktail parties many times, and that she didn't do anything very important for the CIA anyway.

In the Clinton years, the GOP ran investigations non-stop. Some have just recently ended. So, with our national security at risk now why would we want to ignore the goings-on in the WH and Cheney's office? If nothing else it is a fascinating look at how the VP used the press to discredit its enemies.

My fellow Moonbats have to realise that the Libby case isn't a Watergate level crime. Maybe the Bush administration incompetence has more to do with this than a GRAND CONSPIRACY. While the story will be intriguing, I don't think Karl has to worry about Bubba in a cell. The Niger forgery has smudges from the Crayon .........
Fitzmas is past, Groundhog day is coming up, will Cheney see his DARK SHADOW? Will Gonzales<strike>Barnabus</strike> avoid the light of day?

Indeed, the BooMan post should be read in full Joe. Whether Booman is on to something, or not... these are important questions. It is quite suspicious isn't it?

This truly is a very interesting case. We've already seen many things, but something tells me that 'the best is yet to come'.
