Poor Wolf. The VP chewed him up and spit him out in that interview- definitely a mismatch during the entire thing. I’d much rather see someone a little more aggressive( like Chris Matthews) asking Cheney the hard questions, rather than the mild-mannered Blitzer. The poster is correct about how the questions about Cheney’s daughter should have been phrased. Watching them spar was like watching a vicious pit bull go after a meek little mouse!
Ah,,, did we watch teh sme interview? A V.P who amswers almost no questions is ‘chwing him up’?
Also, I think the question about his daughter is in line as this administration makes ‘morality’ a poltiical issus. I’d like to know if the VP wants less rights for gay americans, or only for gay americans who aren’t his daughter? Can gays adopt children? Many republicans (yes stone age thinking at its best) think not. They say only good ‘hetro sexual’ couples can adopt and have and rasie kids. So the VP’s POV on this would either make im out to be a hypocrite or a liar.
But the notion that the VP was ‘tough’…no, he showed his intolerance and his stupidity/meanness. He can’t actually answer a difficult question so he shouts and screasm and makes excuses…sort of like Nixon did and like Bush and like all those who defended this horrible war. It is the Fox News POV to simply shout at one another and not actually address real issues with actual facts or thinking. Why are the Bush conservatives so scared of debate and discussion? I think it is based on those who have power and feel they have no responsibility to others. I mean if it was aDem. in office when an terrorists attacked this country I’m sure the republicans would have blamed them. But as Bush was in office they are still on the defensive about the fact that this very administration was in complete power when the largest terror attack in this countires history took place…that must be embarrassing for these guys huh?
m- Cheney controlled the interview- and Wolf allowed him to do it. He seemed intimidated by the VP. I like Blitzer, but he’s too mild-mannered to keep Cheney from dominating the interview with his own message. I learned nothing new from it.
