Barefoot Contessa Controversy

There is a brewing controversy involving Food Network personality Ina Garten, better known as the Barefoot Contessa. According to multiple media reports she has turned down a request from a sick, possibly dying six year old boy to cook with her. In fact she turned the request down twice.

In her defense there are reports from Make A Wish that she does fill wishes and she certainly does have a busy schedule.

I partly post this story because *IF* it is true that she has been this callous with an ill child then she properly deserves to be condemned. But I also think it worth considering whether this is media hype at play once again.

For now I am disappointed if the story turns out to be fully true, but await her own personal response.
