Ellison Redux

Israel is set to have its first Muslim minister. Great news, and worth celebrating by everyone hoping for peace in the region. Meanwhile, the Palestinian Authority has named a youth soccer tournament after Saddam Hussein. Slightly less great news, probably not worth celebrating by those hoping for peace in the region.

    I have no idea if the swearing in involves a religious text or not, but I’ll bet you anything that the rest of the government (presumably mostly jewish) would not only not insist on a Torah, but be offended by it.
