Question for the modern artist: Is method important? It it important that they did this piece the hard way instead of digital manipulation? Does it change the meaning of the art in any way?

In this case, I would thik that the hard way is what this piece was about. As a musician, there is just something about going at it “the hard way” that lets you measure yourself.
