Center of Attention

Some extra attention to a few Centrist blogs.

(links do not necessarily reflect the opinion of anyone blogging at TMV)

Pete Abel at Central Sanity on “k-street and the new Congress”. How to limit lobbyist-power?

Ron Beasley at Middle Earth Journal: Lunatics getting Air Time. Pat Robertson on Fox.

The African American Political Pundit at Mirror on America on the hanging of Saddam Hussein and Obama’s… troubled high school and college years.

Shay at Booker Rising presents the quote of the day. Today’s quote is from James Shikwati, Kenyan libertarian economist.

UnCoRRELATED: news or political gossip. Is there a difference? If so what exactly is the difference?

  1. Davebo says:

I don’t get it. Obama smoked pot and did some coke during high school/college and people are troubled by this?

Does anyone remember the early 1980′s besides me?? Would you really want a leader who came of age at that time and didn’t smoke a little grass?

  2. Here is my confession: I used it on more than one occasion as well.

It’s legal here of course, so it’s different.

Anyway, as long as they’re not doing it now, it doesn’t matter, does it? I liked Ed Morrissey’s take on it (Pete linked to it earlier today).

  3. Davebo says:

    Michael,

What’s legal there? Certainly not Cocaine and in reality, not marijuana either (possesion is a misdemeanor punishable by fine).

But I too liked Ed’s take.

  4. But we are ‘accepting’ or better said – as we call it – ‘tolerating it’, which is of course in the end the same: a rule that is ignored is effectively as not a rule at all.

Or at least so we tell ourselves ;)
