On Bush’s Impending Call For “Sacrifice”

MSNBC’s rising star Keith Olbermann has made one of his strongest, bluntest statements yet in THIS VIDEO where he takes up President George W. Bush’s reportedly-impending “new Iraq strategy” call for a big “surge” of U.S. troops and more “sacrifice” to win in Iraq. If you boil it down, and cut-out the political doublespeak, Bush is calling for what he says and apparently hopes will be a temporary, major escalation of the U.S. presence in Iraq and a tacit-if-not-explicit rejection of the Iraq Study Group’s findings.

Olbermann’s ratings have been zooming up since he started doing the equivilent of no-holds-barred Op-Ed pieces on the air. This is one of his most-pointed pieces and it is sure to spark discussion everywhere…including in our comments section below.

    Here’s this week’s episode of…..

Axiomatic Truths Of The Universe Theater:

“Every time a bell rings, an angel gets their wings.”

“Every time you masturbate, God kills a kitten.”

And, of course, the most immutable, axiomatic TRUTH of them ALL:

Every time George W. Bush utters the word

    “Sacrifice”

    another American will

    DIE.

Olbermann’s ratings (along with the last election) are transforming the media ever so slowly. The MSM has to be wondering why they should “sacrifice” their credibility for a lame duck prez with lame ideas.

It is Bush who has no plan and no clue about how to undo the mess he created. The “surge” strategy is wrong, and it does indeed appear that Bush wants only to appear that he didn’t “lose Iraq” by keeping it going until he is out of office.

If the remaining GOP legislators want to ride his coat tails to hell, fine. But we don’t need to sacrifice any more young Americans to fight for Iran’s stooges in Iraq, nor for Saddam’s stooges. Let’s get the hell out. The Iraqis don’t want us there, the soldiers don’t want us there, the American public doesn’t want us there. Dontcha get it, GOP? It’s over. We lost.

England stayed in India for 104 years. The country still descended into bloodshed and chaos when they left. Should they still be there, waiting for the “right time” to leave “with honor”? Russia bled the treasury dry in Afghanistan, and we stayed in Vietnam, and even included a “surge” before leaving in defeat. Time to learn from history: 1) don’t try to occupy sovereign nations. 2) don’t start wars of aggression. 3) When it’s clear you can’t win, get out.

Maybe W should send his two bimbo twins on a vacation to Basra instead of South America. His nephew would be great cannon fodder in the new push to secure Bahgdada, the last push in July was soooooo good. I want to see his family sacrifices……

  4. Sam says:

I have seen few men that seem to know less about sacrifice than our current president. Has that man ever known a moment of it his entire life? He values lightly the sacrifice of others, while never having made even a slight one himself. Its one of the most abominable traits to be found in a leader of people.
